Joinscience (Tianjin) Science and Technology Business Incubator Co., Ltd., was officially founded in November 2013, with a total construction area of 44,000 square meters, and a total investment of 60 million RMB. In the year of 2019, it was recognized as one of national science and technology business incubators by the Ministry of Science and Technology. It entitled by many honors, such as “Tianjin Youth Entrepreneurship Base”, “Tianjin International Science and Technology Cooperation Park”, “Tianjin Small & Micro Scaled Business Entrepreneurship and Innovation Demo Base” and “Top 100 Distinctive Carrier for the year 2020”, etc.

Since its very beginning, Joinscience Incubator has been committed to build scientific & technological incubation platform, public laboratory platform, GMP pilot platform for medical devices, 3rd party cold-chain warehouse & logistics platform, intellectual property & technology innovation platform, etc. It provides multiple services for the incubating enterprises, such as entity registration agency, specialized registering assistants for medical devices, professional construction services, investment & financing supports, enterprise resource connections and industry ecological services etc.

Meanwhile, Joinscience Incubator has built strategic partnership with Tianjin Medical University, Tianjin University of Science and Technology and Hebei University of Technology to create a linkage platform of industry, research and capital. Based on Joinscience Medical`s nationwide network resources, Joinscience Incubator has created a particular whole-chain healthcare service mode.

Joinscience Incubator has successfully introduced in more than 100 enterprises including Tianjin Di`an Joinscience Medical Laboratories, Tuori Medical, Zhongcheng Jiayi, Zenmeasure, Putian Fuxin, SeaKing Data, Locmedt etc., involving the business field of research, manufacturing, distribution and after-sale service in healthcare industry. In the year of 2020, Joinscience Incubator and Huaming High-Tech Zone jointly established Medical Device Innovation Industrial Park, and Huaming Joinscience Incubator Innovation Service Window of Tianjin Municipal Medical Device Review and Inspection Center was put into service, which would accelerate the speed of medical device approval, promote high-speed development of healthcare industry, and create a brand-new healthcare industry ecology.

Mantou & Coffee Makerspace

Mantou & Coffee Makerspace (MCM), located in the Low-Carbon Industrial Base of Huaming High-Tech Zone in Dongli District in Tianjin, was invested and founded by Joinscience Incubator in 2015. It is a specialized makerspace in healthcare industry combining the functions of entertainment, conference, investment and communication together. It holds several conferences for municipal and district-level governments and for healthcare industry, and receives the guests from the government and social organizations for several times.

MCM provides incubating companies with workspace, social space and resource-sharing space, by fully taking advantage of market mechanism, professional services, capitalization channel, and the integration of resources from enterprises and universities. The startup companies will grow up through the processes of screening, evaluation, investment, training and reconstruction. Guided by market and based on products, MCM focuses on outputting of management, services, resources and capital. In all, it establishes different stages of the all-round, ladder-type business service system for them.

In 2015, MCM was listed as one of the first 136 makerspaces by the Torch Center in Ministry of Science & Technology, incorporated into national technology business incubator management and service system by following the national policy “public participation in starting businesses and making innovations”. In the same year, the makerspace was approved as one of the first 25 makerspaces in Tianjin. Meanwhile, it strengthens the collaboration with the Founder and Dark Horse Club and becomes one of the first healthcare collaborators of Dark Horse Club Tianjin Branch. Up to now, MCM has brought in over 40 incubated companies, covering the fields of biomedicine research, medical device sale, etc.

Tianjin Haiyin Outpost Fund

Tianjin Haiyin Outpost Fund has been set up, due to years of invest achievements of both Haiyin Capital and Joinscience Incubator in the field of sci-tech innovation at channels, experiences and projects. Combined with the local government's policy guidance in scientific and technological innovation, as well as industrial research and development and production capacity, Haiyin Outpost Fund will introduce projects related to biomedical medicine, medical devices, and healthcare-related AI platforms. More than that, it will provide multiple services for the settled enterprises, such as entity registration, talent service, policy support, supply chain construction and output capacity assistance, etc.Sci-tech innovative startups are expected to achieve their rapid development within 3-5years during incubation, taking the advantages of the policy support from the local government and the professional services by Haiyin Capital and Joinscience Incubator.

Tianjin Haiyin Outpost Fund will introduce numbers of domestic and foreign advanced hardcore technology enterprises into Tianjin by means of equity venture investment. With the help of capital, policy, industry ability and other forces, production of Sci-Tech products in large scale will realize, which will promote the settled enterprises develop in high speed, and eventually realize equity exiting by mergers, acquisitions or IPO.

Tianjin Medical Joinscience Makerspace

Tianjin Medical Joinscience Makerspace (TMJM) was established jointly by Joinscience Incubator and Tianjin Medical University (TMU) in November 2015. It was located in Guangdong Road campus of TMU with 3844m2 of building area. Concentrating on innovative technology development in healthcare industry and college research achievement transformation, TMJM was identified as one of college makerspaces in Tianjin by Tianjin Municipal Education Commission at the end of 2015.

16 functional areas are set up in TMJM consisting of public area, entrepreneurial cafe, entrepreneurial incubator, entrepreneurial workshop, service center, roadshow area, practice base, etc. Catering to students and teachers, TMJM aims at establishing an open, low-cost, convenient and comprehensive service and education platform for the entrepreneurs in university.

Focusing on developing innovative ability of students, TMJM can organize various training courses regularly such as entrepreneurial training, career training, professional certification, ability training and expert lecture as well as diverse practice projects on marketing, HR, brand strategy, e-business, art design and product development. TMJM also promotes different communication and interaction activities like entrepreneurial saloon, forum and contest and provides entrepreneurial consultation, entrepreneurial loan and angel investment for student entrepreneurs.

Based on the characteristics of medical industry, TMJM combines entrepreneurial education and talent growth together relying on project promotion and supervisor guidance. It can develop achievement transformation in the field of clinical detection with the connection among industry, education and research.

Joinscience USA

Joinscience USA Consulting LLC was officially founded in Seattle, WA, USA at the end of 2016. Relying on professional background in healthcare industry and abundant commercial resources in China, Joinscience USA builds a platform for the startups in Chinese and American healthcare industry to promote entrepreneurial communication and collaboration on medical technology and improve international environment of innovation and entrepreneuring. In the future, Joinscience USA will provide professional channels for innovators and entrepreneurers and help them establish valuable commercial relationship and operation network in the two countries.

Joinscience USA Consulting LLC will offer investment-connecting service and related consulting service on Chinese medical policies, laws and regulations to overseas medical companies with research projects which intend to explore, expand or move to China. Joinscience USA will arrange mutual visits and supply opportunities of market investigation to the companies in China and the USA, in order to promote resource connection, project landing and company establishment.

Currently, Joinscience USA has collaborated with University City Science Center (UCSC) in Philadelphia, PA, USA. Based on the principle of “complementary advantages, resource sharing, mutual reciprocity and common development”, both sides will investigate and share binational needs of incubator companies from their respective communities and identify the capabilities they are seeking in China and the USA, in order to commercialize projects in these markets. Joinscience USA and UCSC will support “soft landing” for participating companies in China and the USA, including project incubation, consultation and management, research collaboration, business landing and registration, resource connecting and policy consultation, on the basis of the capabilities of each party. Both two parties will seek to develop a business model for collaboration, including funding for cooperative activities.
